“He Only Comes Twice” (1990)

“He Only Comes Twice”

The 7th John Brames John film was poised for festival contention, but nearly pulled from any release whatsoever after it was realized that the plot and almost all dialog was completely ripped from classic Bond film “You Only Live Twice.”

An international film board (famous for cutting a scene of diplomatic discourse from erotic history epic “Caligula” in which Helen Mirren pegs a disgruntled Senator on the Senate floor) alerted Papa Testa Cazzo and the Cinema NonnaFascina brass that the film was being nixed in the build-up to Cannes.

Cinema NonnaFascina responded by having a bundle of broken panoramic lenses wrapped in newspaper delivered to the board offices.

The film was released without issue.
